Beginning of service in Juliaca, where our representative will be waiting for your at the harbour to ease your transfer to the
Island of Taquile and then on to the community of Llachon on the Capachica Peninsula.
Our captain is already waiting for us on his boat. We will navigate across Puno’s bay into the Greater Lake. The water becomes darker, and after approximately 2 ½ hours navigating, we will disembark on the island’s north shore. We will take a nice and easy path across the island discovering the particular traditions of the people in
Taquile, enjoying the fabulous landscape dominates by
Bolivia’s Cordillera Real. Upon reaching the centre of the
island, we are in the largest town’s main plaza where you can discover local handicrafts. Here, the men knit their own chullos and chuspas (typical Andean knit cap and coca leave bag). Lunch at a typical restaurant where you can try a lake trout or pejerrey. We climb down impressive stone steps with a marvelous view towards the harbor where our boat awaits us. This time it will take us towards the Capachica peninsula just an hour from
Taquile.
Our host already waits for us on the dock to take us to his home and offer us a cup of coca tea or a cup of muña, a native mint. After becoming installed in your rooms, you will be free to take a walk around the countryside to discover the life and traditions of this singular peninsula or perhaps you World prefer to stroll down to the white sandy beach of the world’s highest navigable lake (3,800 meters above sea level).
Overnight: Local home in Llachon-Santa Maria.
Meals: Lunch and dinner included.

Día 2: Llachon - Islas Uros de Titina o de Puno - Muelle de Puno.

(Private boat service) Shared service only between Puno and Taquile.
After breakfast at our local inhabitant’s home, we continue by boat towards the Puno (2 hours navigation to Puno’s harbor). The Uros are an ancient civilization that almost disappeared and Developer on floating totora reed islands. Their inhabitants continue to thrive from fishing and a bit of handicrafts. End of service in Puno’s harbour.
