  1. What are the Llachon and Santa Maria communities like?

Llachon and Santa Maria are communities located on Lake Titicaca’s Capachica Peninsula, characterized for having kept their traditional and costumes surrounded by the beauty of Lake Titicaca. Their main activities are husbandry, fishing, handicrafts, and agriculture. The natives are friendly and have experience offering tourist services.

  1. What are the rooms like?

The rooms are rural in style, with adobe (a mixture of earth and straw) walls and totora reed roofs, giving them a characteristic high Andean plateau look. Each room has two beds.

  1. What is the type of accommodations?

They are double rooms with a comfortable table for your convenience.

  1. Will I need a sleeping-bag in the local houses?

We do not recommend carrying a sleeping-bag since all rooms are warm and all tours include staying at a local house. We will be waiting for you with a delicious local herb tea upon your arrival at your local house.

  1. What kind of food will I find in the house?

Local products grown by the very same natives with balanced meals typical to Lake Titicaca and based on natural products. If you are a vegetarian, we can offer you different options.

  1. Will I be able to participate in the activities of the local community?

Yes, it is our goal for you to become acquainted with our lifestyle. For this reason we offer you alternatives to know the techniques we use in agriculture, fishing and to participate in our traditions and costumes.

  1. Doe the local guide speak English or any other language?

We have local guides who speak foreign languages such as English and French. Your tour escort is also someone from the communities of Llachon or Santa Maria and trained to offer a good service.

  1. Can I travel to Lake Titicaca with my family?

Yes. The tours are designed for you to enjoy them with your family or friends. We have all of the structure necessary to welcome you, such as the local houses and dinning rooms.

  1. How may I contribute to the communities?

You can contribute to the community by buying their products, such as their handicrafts. And you can also recommend your friends to visit Lake Titicaca, specially the communities of Llachon and Santa Maria.

  1. What is the maximum number of passengers in a group?

The maximum number of passengers per guide is 15. Every group also has a local escort and both guides can help you during the tour as well as answering your questions.
